OPM had previously forced insurance companies to stop providing care for trans federal employees or risk losing their federal contract. Now, they have updated to remove any provisions for continuing care for anyone “mid-treatment” (which is already an insane way of phrasing things seeing as most trans people are on hormones for life. It’s not like you “finish” your hormonal transition anymore than a cis person “finishes” needing their own internal hormone production.)
