Real clever workaround here that I suspect we’ll see a lot more of. Instead of banning trans people from firearms, make it incredibly easy to commit perjury while trying to get them. It would look like this for me: I walk in to a gun shop and start filing out the ATF paperwork. I can choose M (matching my ID and appearance) or F (my AGAB.) The ATF requires I choose F, but the shop owner looks at me and my ID and refuses it. Okay, so I select M: Congratulations, I’ve just committed perjury! Now the ATF has 5 years to decide if they’ve matched me on some other list of trans people and wants to prosecute, looking at a a felony with a 5 year sentence.
